NEW TRAILER: GRAN TORINO

Here is a Trailer that I am very interested in. Aside from being a genius at Directing, Clint Eastwood just proves you can better yourself and be great at any age. Not only that but the movie looks great too.

AGING IN FILM…

Except in some rare exceptions, aging sucks no matter what profession you are in. The mind works better and just as fast as at 30 but it just seems like the packaging doesn’t follow. Now add on to that that this profession is one which involves the factor of beauty, youth and health, and you have yourself a dilemma.

FOUR OF THE TOP TEN ACTING TECHNIQUES WE NEED TO LOSE

Here is a great article from Broadway Mouth that exemplifies how modern theater actors need change and an evolution in techniques that is paralell to the one happening in the medium. For the full article…Click Here.

WORST ACTING EVER!

Here is a wonderfully clear example of WHAT NOT to do when acting on film. Enough said.

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF BEFORE GOING INTO THE ACTING BUSINESS

Any business person planning to invest time, energy, and his life savings in a new business commits himself to relentless research. He interviews people in the field, checks the library and/or theinternet for information, and conducts a market survey to see if there is a need for his product.
In many ways, an actor is no different than any other business person. To enter the marketplace in an effective way, the actor needs to analyze his product by coming up with clear, concise answers to a series of essential questions that you need to ask yourself..

NEW HORROR TRAILER: TWILIGHT

Here is our next Horror trailer. Im a little bit torn on what to think of this adaptation from teen novel… It seems like it could be great, or become just another young tween story without substance. What do you think?

IS YOUR IMAGE AND PHYSICALITY YOUR DESTINY??

Whether we like it or not, its true that your face is your fortune. If you are Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry, or Brad Pitt, your face can and will open many doors for you; if you are not perceived as beautiful, reviewers might not focus on your acting. This happened to Kathy Bates, where critics like John Simon said things like “its a shame her leading man should play opposite an actress who is enormously overweight”.,,

EDITING YOUR DEMO REEL.
O.K. We all know how actors can be: egocentric, narcicistic and vain. And there are plenty of times when that would be anything but useful. Except one: The demo-reel.

Demo reels have one purpose and one purpose only: Showing you (I know you love it!). And that means it is of no importance who feeds you the line, their response, their shot, only you, you, you. Here is how a proper reel should look:

SELF MOTIVATION

Like every week we post a book review on a subject related to acting, health, personal growth or anything related to the showbiz industry. SHOULD WE BE AFRAID TO LOSE OUR JOBS TO ROBOT ACTORS?

Koroko Dreams and Osaka University have built a bizarre android-like robotic actress that can speak, blink, and is even capable of several different human-like facial expressions (which is a few more than some “real” actors and actresses..you know who I mean). They’re revealed the Actroid off at the International Robot Exhibition at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center.

THE HARD COLD FACTS ABOUT MONEY…
Is it possible to earn a living as an actor? Bet you’ve heard that before…Yes, but it is difficult. According to SAG’s records, only 6% of the almost 100,000 actors who are already in the union make what SAG speaks of as “middle-class” earnings of $30,000 to $70,000 a year, and only 2% make over $100,000 annually…
