BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP FOR ACTORS…

<br />

As an actor we have discussed plenty of things regarding your image: weight, health, teeth, height…etc. But one very important thing we yet have to address is SKIN. Yeah make-up can work miracles and we all know the magical wonders of concealer, but thats not the point. The point is when you are up on a 12 foot screen at the movies, and your face is blown up for all to see and scrutinize, you dont want to look lumpy, or scarred, or painted with a coat of base so thick (in this case men always have more problems) you look like a drag-queen. And yes, a simple pimple can be covered, but when its an entire facial side with tiny lumps, you are basically giving the lighting team an extra half hour of work. Not good.

Before I go further, I want to say that these tips are assuming that you are sitting in front of your computer typing a business email. Emails from mobile devices are a different story for a different post…

Its a given you are likely to almost always get a role that matches your “type”…or is it? Here is a list of actors who really went above and beyond to turn into their character. Some of these actors were also rewarded with acclamation and wonderful critics (even awards) because of the amount of hard work put into the transformation. Hours of make-up, 60 pound wardrobes, un-healthy dieting or weight gain…

These books are simply wonderful. If I ever feel like I want to learn about a new subject I have no idea about or am overwhelmed, then I always turn to Dummies. They give you insight in a very reader-friendly manner, touching all subjects related to the topic at hand, providing you with any information you need.
