As actors we will have plenty of occasions to speak in public: award shows, thank-you speaches, interviews, but mainly our day to days: auditions. We need to know how to adress the room full of people who might end up giving you your next big break! So it is of utter importance to know “how” to get rid of your fears of public speaking, or atleast learn how to “fake it”. As actors people start judging you the minute you walk into the room. Not when its convenient for you to begin saying your lines. So “man-up” and use any tools available to perfect your public speaking techniques. P.S. I also use one small trick: imagine you are your favourite actor/actress. How do they address others? How would they talk? Move? Smile? Act?How would their voice sound? Calm? Funny? Excited?
